Mead is one of the worlds oldest alcoholic drink and Poland has a long, rich and proud history of creating truly exceptional meads. Flavors can range from dry to very sweet, alcohol content low to high and mouthfeel thin to full. Meads made in Poland are legally classified into 4 grades depending on ratio of honey to water used in production: Poltorak, Dwojniak and Trojniak. All the Meads are made entirely using natural ingridients with no conservatives or color additives.
Considered a dessert mead, its flavor is decadent and very sweet. Aged for a minimum of 3 years. Because it is made with 1 parts honey to 0.5 parts water it is the sweetest but also the strongest of Meads, averaging alcohol content around 15% to 18%.
Not as sweet as Poltorak but still very sweet and aromatic. Aged for a minimum of 2 years. Made with 1 parts honey to 1 parts water, averaging alcohol content around 14% to 17%.
Semi-sweet, the most versatile, a popular choice for many. Aged for a minimum of 1 year. Made with 1 parts honey to 2 parts water, averaging alcohol content around 12% to 16%.
